Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, (ENT) and head & neck disorders. A subspecialty within otolaryngology is otology, which is dedicated to the care of the ears including the hearing and balance systems. There are approximately 2,000 otologists in the United States.
