Ziad Bashshur received the doctor of medicine diploma from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1994 and completed an Ophthalmology Residency in 1998. He did a Vitreoretinal Fellowship in 1999 at the University of Virginia after which he joined the staff at the Ophthalmology Department at AUB where he is currently Professor of Ophthalmology. His main clinical focus is vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.

Dr. Bashshur’s major research interests include retinal vascular diseases and particularly neovascular age-related macular degeneration. He is, also, interested in the fluidics of vitreoretinal surgery. He has over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a reviewer for several ophthalmology journals. These include Retina, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, Acta Ophthalmologica, Ophthalmic surgery and lasers, and Clinical Ophthalmology.

Dr. Gerstenblith then completed his residency at the Wills Eye Hospital where he was honored to be chosen as Chief Resident in his final year as well as serve as the senior co-editor of the Wills Eye Manual. Dr. Gerstenblith has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers, review articles and textbook chapters as well as presented his research at multiple scientific conferences. He has been the lead investigator and participated in dozens of clinical trials in the field of retinal disease. Dr. Gerstenblith cares for patients with all manners of retinal disease but has particular interest in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, complex retinal detachment, vitreoretinal surgical instrumentation, and clinical research. Dr. Gerstenblith is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.

Shan Lin, MD

Dr. Shan C. Lin is an ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery and the use of lasers and ultrasound biomicroscopy. In his research, Lin studies new medications for the treatment of progressive glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Lin earned a medical degree at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed a residency and fellowship in ophthalmology at UCSF Medical Center. He is an active member in several medical and scientific societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He serves on the Glaucoma Panel of the Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a reviewer for the Journal of Glaucoma and British Journal of Ophthalmology. He is an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology at UCSF.

Caesar K. Luo, M.D., is a board certified vitreo-retinal surgeon, who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and conditions. Dr. Luo graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. Dr. Luo continued his education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where he earned his medical degree with a Distinction in Community Service.  Dr. Luo completed his medical internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; followed by his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Luo completed his training with a vitreo-retinal fellowship, including pediatric retinal surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan.  Dr. Luo has earned many academic honors and awards during his training. During his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute, Dr. Luo was selected as Co-Chief Resident. Dr. Luo has authored and co-authored many research publications and has lectured at international conferences on various ocular conditions and diseases, specifically those associated with the retina.

Dr. Robert J. Noecker is a leading ophthalmologist at Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut specializing in the medical, laser and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. He has more than 20 years of experience in developing innovations in laser and glaucoma surgery and has conducted over 50 trials on the pharmacologic, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eyes. He has also performed many preclinical studies on laser-tissue interactions. He is on the editorial board of 10 peer reviewed journals in ophthalmology, has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and has lectured around the world in over 30 countries.

Dr. Noecker did his undergraduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona and Fellowship in glaucoma at Tufts University in Boston. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Yale University School of Medicine and is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Frank Netter School of Medicine of Quinnipiac University.

Nathan Radcliffe, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist who is an experienced glaucoma and cataract surgeon. Prior to June of 2014, Dr. Radcliffe served as the Director of the Glaucoma Service at Weill Cornell Medical College for six years. During his time in academics, Dr. Radcliffe managed the most challenging cataract and glaucoma cases referred from all over the world, published over 40 peer reviewed publications in glaucoma research, gave hundreds lectures on glaucoma and cataract to thousands of ophthalmologists in 40 states and over a dozen different countries, and won awards for his surgical videos and teaching.

Dr. Radcliffe serves on the Skills Transfers Advisory Committee for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, is the Chair of the Multimedia Committee for the American Glaucoma Society and serves on the Glaucoma Clinical Committee for the Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Radcliffe graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from Temple University School of Medicine and then was transitional resident of the year at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He was chief resident at New York University for his ophthalmology residency and was chief glaucoma fellow at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
